The editorial workflow for KCH Chronicles ensures a structured, transparent, and quality-driven process from submission to publication. Below is the detailed breakdown of roles and responsibilities:

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Accepting Editor (Level 1): Minkon Roy
    • Acts as the initial point of contact for all manuscript submissions.
    • Submissions are accepted via email only; phone calls and messages are strictly prohibited.
    • Acknowledges the receipt of submissions and verifies that all essential details have been provided.

  2. Handling Editor (Level 2): Dr. Parag Deb Roy (Associate Chief Editor)
    • Conducts a thorough review and audit of each manuscript to ensure compliance with submission standards.
    • Key verification points include:
      • Article formatting, author details (location, address, Aadhaar card, phone number, email ID), and payment receipt.
      • Ethical considerations.
      • No Objection Certificate (NOC) from a competent authority, if applicable.
      • Plagiarism-free certificate.
      • Declaration of conflicts of interest.
    • Manuscripts meeting all criteria are forwarded to the Chief Editor.
    • Rejections require explicit approval from the Chief Editor.
  3. Deciding Editor (Level 3): Dr. Phulen Sharma (Chief Editor)
    • Review the manuscripts alongside the Primary Editorial Boardduring a physical or hybrid meeting.
    • Facilitates decision-making on whether to proceed with or reject submissions.
    • Approved manuscripts are referred to the Subject Refereesfor domain-specific evaluation

  4. Subject Referees (Panel)
    • A pre-formed panel of subject matter experts reviews the scientific and technical rigor of manuscripts.
    • Provides feedback, suggests modifications, or approves manuscripts for publication.
    • Authors are notified of required changes, if any, and must resubmit the revised manuscript within a specified timeframe.

  5. Language Expert
    • Conducts a final review to ensure clarity, grammatical accuracy, and adherence to linguistic standards for publication.

  6. Designer
    • Prepares the approved manuscript for publication in the journal's official format.

  7. Final Publication and Notification
    • Once all steps are completed, the manuscript is published in KCH Chronicles.
    • A formal congratulatory letter and publication confirmation are sent to the author.
